Together with the Johan Cruijff ArenA, we have developed the feature ‘Reporting without app’. This feature allows ‘third parties’ – such as visitors, suppliers or partners – to easily create a report in the organisation’s logbook. Without having to download and use an app.
Via the back-end of Safesight, administrators easily create the QR code with a few clicks. This can be done per specific location so that each location gets its own QR code. Next, place the QR code in a visible place – such as the entrance or on areas around a location. Also, the link behind the QR code can be used 1-to-1 in other apps – for example, in the regular company app, business app or event app.
After scanning the QR code via his/her phone’s camera, a web form opens that allows the person involved to create a report. That item is registered – possibly with photo and contact details – in the project log and then ‘simply’ picked up, monitored and handled by the organisation via the platform.
QR codes in the Johan Cruijff ArenA
Currently, employees can use QR codes in the offices to report all kinds of facility issues. Think of reports about cleaning, damages or malfunctions. These messages are fed into the logbook of the day-to-day operations, which then passes them on to the responsible department. Via various dashboards, the organisation has an up-to-date overview of all open (and closed) reports and here it is exactly visible what the status of a report is.
In the coming period, the QR codes will appear in more and more places in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. For example at the hospitality kiosks, for visitors in the skyboxes and backstage during events.
QR codes in RAI Amsterdam
All attendees – such as visitors, suppliers, stand builders and exhibitors – of RAI Amsterdam will come across the QR codes as they enter the location. Banners have been placed at all entrances asking them to report (potentially) undesirable or unsafe situations (or other deviations) to the RAI Amsterdam safety organisation. And just like at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, these reports end up in the logbook of the daily safety organisation from where they are immediately forwarded to the right department. For example, to the technical department, fire guards or safety managers.

One feature, different industries
Safesight and the Johan Cruijff ArenA developed the ‘Report without app’ feature from the ERDF programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (European Regional Development Fund). The principle was to develop a feature that can also be used at other branches. For example, at convention centres such as RAI Amsterdam. But the ‘Report without app’ feature is now also being used in the construction industry.
